Trecking around the Arab Quarter

The old city of Jerusalem is divided into four quarters: Jewish Quarter, Christian Quarter, Arab Quarter, and Armenian Quarter. Today I went to the Arab Quarter for the first time and so I though I would share some pictures from our (Melissa and Ashleigh went with me) exploration.
We started out by going to the super market to get lemon to flavor our not so tasty water and I realized that a counter full of olives might be a way to get Trina to come visit me...(-:
Here's a colorful street in the market. Ramadan began yesterday, so all these people can't eat or drink anything while the sun is out. We were very careful not to take out our water and drink in front of them while in their part of town.
This man is right outside the Arab Quarter were all the Jews are enjoying their bread.
The Damascus Gate. One of the main entrances to the old city and the Arab Quarter.
We then decided to check out the garden tomb while we were close by. The garden tomb is a place believed by some to be where Jesus was crucified and resurrected. It's definitely not the real place, but we figured, why not see two place where Christ was killed and buried in two days (Church of the Holy Sepulcher was yesterday). Only in Jerusalem...

Skull Hill...My artsy pic of the garden tombWe decided that a picture outside the actual tomb might be better then just a sign (-:There is an actual garden that is just beautiful that surrounds the tomb. And this is kinda random, but I figured everyone needs to know what payphones look like in other countries...well, at least I thinks it's interesting. (-:

And now I really must go study, ah, so hard to do when there is still so much to explore!

Hello my dear! Looks like you are having a blast!!! Everything is so picturesque.

And that rooftop of yours! Wow, it's not every day God sends retreats like that our way. What an answer to prayer.

I promise I'll be sending a letter your way soon. Nursing school was like getting hit by a freight train, but I'm getting into a groove now.

Love ya!
